Cub Scouting at 1st Braughing

Learn practical skills while having adventures with friends

1st Braughing Puma Pack Cubs

The Cub Section is the second section of the Scouting Movement for boys and girls aged 8-10½. We run two separate pack evenings with over 50 young people in our packs on a Tuesday evening (Puma Pack in Puckeridge) and Wednesday (Cheetah Pack in Braughing) evenings.

Most Cubs move up from our Beaver colony, although if you are new to Scouting you can still join us. To check for availability, please go to the join page and send us your details.

For Cubs, excitement and adventure are key There are many opportunities to join in the fun and adventure at Cubs. The Cub programme offers a huge variety of activities surrounding areas of fitness, global and beliefs; whilst allowing them to be creative and get involved in their local communities. Cubs are introduced to exciting outdoor skills and take part in adventurous activities, as well as camps and residential experiences. We normally run around a couple of camps/residential weekends a year which often involve 2 nights away. There are lots of badges to be gained which adds to the excitement of completing the requirements, earning self-belief, confidence and being proud when they complete them.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
